Is there a US version of the Daiwa Battle GAME Taman / Gara Monster EX?
We could not find the Battle GAME Taman / Gara Monster EX by name in Daiwa’s 2026-27 US catalog (printed, July 2026), so the sizes and specs on this page are the Japan-market ones. Sellers who ship from Japan are the usual source for this exact model in the US; a US dealer may still carry a related model under a different name.

About this item
What the maker's numbers say about this model:
- The shortest packed length is 113 cm (44.5 in) (Gara Monster EX 12-480).
- Weights run from 520 g (18.3 oz) on the Taman Monster EX 8-480 to 555 g (19.6 oz) on the Gara Monster EX 12-480.
- 99% carbon.
- Japan list price ¥69,000–¥73,000, which is in the top quarter (by Japan list price) of the 1440 rod series we list.
- Rated by Daiwa for sinkers #20–#60 (75–225 g).
- Long telescopic rods used from rocks and harbour walls.
- Sizes marked go (号) are the Japanese standard. For sinkers one go is exactly 3.75 g, so we convert it; for line it is a diameter class rather than a breaking strain, so we print the maker's number as published.
- Specs are Daiwa's published figures; conversions to imperial are ours.
