Is there a US version of the Daiwa Gekkou?
We could not find the Gekkou by name in Daiwa’s 2026-27 US catalog (printed, July 2026), so the sizes and specs on this page are the Japan-market ones. Sellers who ship from Japan are the usual source for this exact model in the US; a US dealer may still carry a related model under a different name.

In short
Daiwa Gekkou (月光) is a Japan-market rod, listed under Herabuna & carp; ¥22,500–¥46,800 in Japan before tax. 14 models from 2.10 m (6'11") to 6.30 m (20'8"), in 2- to 6-piece builds. Japan list price ¥22,500–¥46,800 before tax (maker's figure); bought outside Japan from sellers who ship from Japan.
About this item
What the maker's numbers say about this model:
- The shortest packed length is 86 cm (33.9 in) (8).
- Weights run from 40 g (1.4 oz) on the 7 to 135 g (4.8 oz) on the 21.
- Carbon content 86–99% depending on the model.
- Japan list price ¥22,500–¥46,800, which is in the lower-middle of the price range of the 1440 rod series we list.
- Sizes marked go (号) are the Japanese standard. For sinkers one go is exactly 3.75 g, so we convert it; for line it is a diameter class rather than a breaking strain, so we print the maker's number as published.
- Specs are Daiwa's published figures; conversions to imperial are ours.
How the sizes differ
- The 14 sizes run from 2.1 m to 6.3 m, weigh 40–135 g and list at ¥22,500–¥46,800 in Japan.
