Is there a US version of the Daiwa Kyokuei Hirame EX?
We could not find the Kyokuei Hirame EX by name in Daiwa’s 2026-27 US catalog (printed, July 2026), so the sizes and specs on this page are the Japan-market ones. Sellers who ship from Japan are the usual source for this exact model in the US; a US dealer may still carry a related model under a different name.

About this item
What the maker's numbers say about this model:
- The shortest packed length is 126 cm (49.6 in) (MH-243).
- Weights run from 109 g (3.8 oz) on the SS/MH-245 to 118 g (4.2 oz) on the S/MH-272.
- Carbon content 98–99% depending on the model.
- Japan list price ¥89,000–¥91,500, which is in the top quarter (by Japan list price) of the 1440 rod series we list.
- Rated by Daiwa for sinkers #20–#120 (75–450 g).
- Japanese party-boat fishing. Styles and tackle are specific to Japan.
- Sizes marked go (号) are the Japanese standard. For sinkers one go is exactly 3.75 g, so we convert it; for line it is a diameter class rather than a breaking strain, so we print the maker's number as published.
