About this item
What the maker's numbers say about this model:
- The Regal 2-53: 5.33 m (17'6") long, 6 pieces, 101 cm (39.8 in) folded, weighs 220 g (7.8 oz), sinker rating #2–6 (7.5–22.5 g, 0.26–0.79 oz) (maker's figures).
- 11 models from 4.45 m (14'7") to 5.33 m (17'6"), in 5- to 6-piece builds.
- The shortest packed length is 101 cm (39.8 in) (1.5-45).
- Weights run from 145 g (5.1 oz) on the 1.5-45 to 420 g (14.8 oz) on the 5-53 Ento.
- At 145 g, the 1.5-45 is the lightest 4.46 m (14'8") rod we list (of 7 at that length).
- Carbon content 92–98% depending on the model.
- Japan list price ¥14,500–¥20,900, which is in the bottom quarter (by Japan list price) of the 1440 rod series we list.
- Rated by Daiwa for sinkers #1.5–#20 (5.62–75 g).
- Long telescopic rods used from rocks and harbour walls.
- Sizes marked go (号) are the Japanese standard. For sinkers one go is exactly 3.75 g, so we convert it; for line it is a diameter class rather than a breaking strain, so we print the maker's number as published.
- Specs are Daiwa's published figures; conversions to imperial are ours.
