Very light saltwater tackle for aji (horse mackerel) and mebaru (rockfish), usually with lures of a few grams. Known in Japan as "light salt".

How to choose
These are among the lightest rods and reels on the site. Pick the rod by its lure rating in grams (often 0.5–5 g) and by length: shorter rods for jig-heads at close range, longer ones for casting small lures further. Reel sizes 1000–2000 keep the outfit balanced; look at the weight figures below to keep the whole set light.
