Common questions (3)
Is this the same as the version sold outside Japan?
This page is the Japan-market model from Ripple Fisher, and every figure here comes from Ripple Fisher's Japanese specifications. A model sold abroad under the same name may come in other sizes or with other specifications, so check the size code and weight on a listing against the table below.
Which size should I choose?
Length is the first choice: shorter rods (around 8–9 ft, 2.4–2.7 m) for rivers and harbours, longer surf rods for open beaches where casting distance matters. Match the lure-weight rating to your usual lures, then pick a reel by size number: 2500–3000 for rivers and harbours, 3000–4000 for the surf. The usual lures are minnows and sinking pencils of about 70–140 mm.
How much will it cost delivered to my country?
The Japan list price is ¥83,000–¥120,000 for these sizes. For an eBay listing, the total we show is the item, the seller's shipping and our estimate of the import duty and tax for the country you pick at the top right of the page; for a size with no listing we estimate from the Japan list price and Japan Post EMS rates. The rates are on our Import duty page. They are estimates, not a seller's price.
