Japanese line is sold by 号 (gou) — a diameter standard, not a strength — and spooled in metres. Pick your line to see its strength and which reels hold it.

How to read “PE 1.0-200” on a reel spec

It means the spool holds 200 m of PE line size 1.0号. Makers list a few sizes per reel — a thinner line fits more, a thicker line less. “Nylon 3-150” is the same idea for nylon (3号, 150 m). Some makers write nylon in lb instead, e.g. “12lb-150m”.

Reels that hold this line

Type a 号 above to see reels whose maker lists this line and length.

From the line capacity each maker publishes (current models only), lightest reel first. A reel that lists only other sizes is not shown, even if it would hold the line.

    Quick table: 号 → lb

Nylon / fluorocarbon: lb ≈ 号 × 4, up to about 5号. Above that the rule breaks down. Strength varies by brand — treat this as approximate.

PE (braid): strength depends on the braid (X4 / X8) and the maker. Lowest and highest strength that makers publish for the same 号 (only where at least two makers publish it; some list maximum strength, so the figures are not measured the same way).

    Length: m ↔ yd

Japanese line spools give the length in metres. Type metres to see yards.

    Weight and drag

Japanese makers give reel and rod weight in grams and maximum drag in kilograms. Type either figure to see it in ounces or pounds.
